Navigating life’s transitions – finding love, committing, staying married, or choosing to leave, is never easy. Every choice carries the weight of the ones we don’t make. To avoid that quiet grief, we stall, we delay or run. We stay in conflict, waiting for others, including the universe, to move us forward.
I spent nearly a decade running Marriage Broker Auntie, India’s first matrimonial advisory, sitting with these conflicts alongside hundreds of people – single, married, divorced and unsure, across India and abroad.
Over time, I have learnt to hold space, ask the right questions, and help people uncover truths they’ve always known but been too afraid to own. Sometimes it works beautifully. Sometimes it doesn’t. Either way, I learn.
I’m capturing these lessons in my book on modern Indian relationships (out 2026). I also apply them as an educator at IIT Madras, teaching GenZ about trust, communication, relationships and decision making. My work now lives at the intersection of emotion and reason – helping people make choices that last.
